91.
Hyeon-woo felt his eyes darken. Even if he tried to somehow get out of the situation, it wouldn’t be easy. Tiamat and Bacardi were terribly tenacious. He wasn’t sure when or how the battle would end.
Kai’s loud cry was heard from Alberg’s side. At the same time, Tiamat hesitated in front of Spotty.
‘It’s a chance!’
Two-eyed, seizing the opportunity, bit Tiamat’s neck and drooped. She struggled to free herself from Two-eyed, but it was not easy with the added hindrance of Spotty.
Tiamat managed to pull them off, sustaining a huge wound to her neck. She reverted her body back to human form. She tried to cover her neck with her hand as the blood continued to flow down, but it didn’t seem to be stopping her bleeding. Her complexion became pale.
‘I might need to retreat for now.’
She was hurt because she was careless for a moment.
Tiamat, shouted at Bacardi through clenched teeth.
“Retreat, you stupid boar!”
“Haha! But we’re having a lot of fun right now?”
“Then stay alone!”
When the small sphere was broken, a small dot appeared in the air and gradually grew in size. And as soon as it was human-sized, Tiamat threw herself inside. Bacardi, who was strangling Kero, put on a sad expression, but in the end he followed Tiamat’s words.
“See you next time!”
“Get lost! What do you mean see next time!”
Ga-jun shuddered and shouted, and the scene was cleared. Although Hyeon-woo’s chain was still there, he judged that Do-jin’s condition was more important. That was why they did not pursue those who fled.
“Spotty!”
As soon as the enemy disappeared, Hyeon-woo called Spotty. Then he said to Ga-jun.
“Take care of Seon-woo.”
“Uh, um.”
Ga-jun made a disapproving expression, but he approached Seon-woo and tried to carry him. Of course, Seon-woo was appalled and tried to reject him.
“Seon-woo, just this time.”
But how could he refuse his Hyung’s request? In the end, Seon-woo got on Spotty’s body with Ga-jun’s help.
There was still Alberg left, but the people here were powerless anyway. It didn’t matter if they left anyway. But just in case, Two-eyed and Kero were left there.

“Healer! Healer please!”
Unlike Seon-woo, whose wounds were quickly resolved, Do-jin’s results were not good.
“Curses and poisons are preventing the wounds from healing. Didn’t the potion work too well?”
“Yes.”
Hyeon-woo’s face turned pale.
“First of all, I did everything I could. I think this should be shown to others. I have contacted the headquarters in advance, so if you go to the affiliated hospital, you will be able to receive treatment.”
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Of course you should be treated. Don’t worry about going to the hospital. The helicopter is ready. And I will stand by your side and continue to help you recover.”
Do-jin received continuous healing and was quickly moved to the hospital. A healer with a higher rank was waiting there.
A Class Awakened, Healer Anna. She had little fighting ability, but her fingers held the best of healing abilities. She really did the best she could. That gave him hope, but that hope was soon dashed.
“I’m sorry.”
Those were Anna’s first words as she came out of the Emergency room.
“The poison has been deciphered to some extent, but the curse is just too difficult to resolve. I can’t solve this on my own. I called an Awakened who could help, just in case, but even he said it was difficult.”
“Then what should I do?”
Anna couldn’t answer Hyeon-woo’s question.
He felt like going crazy. He called a healer, but she shook her head. She said that even if she poured in healing magic, it would only keep him alive for a bit longer. No matter how many intravenous drips and blood transfusions, blood continued to leak out even after hemostasis.
Do-jin’s white face looked like plaster. In front of him, Hyeon-woo anxiously bit his lip. Blood flowed from his tattered lips, but he didn’t care.
Seon-woo had already recovered and was wandering around. Hyeon-woo’s chains were also removed with the help of the US government. But nothing much could be done for Do-jin, and he could only simply watch him die.
He came closer and stroked Do-jin’s cheek with a trembling hand. Then, Do-jin slowly opened her eyes.
“Hyeon-woo?”
A rough voice called on Hyeon-woo.
“Hyung.”
There were many things he wanted to ask. But he couldn’t ask.
“Are you okay? Your lip is messed up.”
Do-jin was the more seriously injured yet he was mentioning such trivial things. Something surged up inside. Hyeon-woo tousled his hair roughly and sat down next to Do-jin.
“Hyung, the patient right now is Hyung.”
In this situation, Hyeon-woo forgot to use honorifics.
“You’re speaking casually now? I’m glad.”
Hyeon-woo pursed his lips. And he carefully held Do-jin’s hand that was hanging down.
“Please wait for me. I’ll save you somehow.”
“I’ll wait.”
Do-jin replied with a smile. Then, as he was tired, he closed his eyes again.
In the hospital room, it was dark everywhere since the lights were not turned on. Alberg materialized from the darkness.
“Where have you been and why are you only coming now?”
“Where have I been, and I only came now? You left me behind, dude.”
Alberg pursed his lips.
“That’s enough. Rather, look at Hyung’s condition.”
“I saw.”
“Is there a way to remove the curse and poison?”
“There’s none.”
At those words, Hyeon-woo’s gaze turned to Alberg.
“How can that be?”
“Why do I have to tell you that?”
Alberg replied with a pouty expression.
“Alberg.”
“It’s true that I like you, but that doesn’t mean I’ll give you everything.”
“I know.”
“If you know, offer the price.”
Hyeon-woo wanted to save Do-jin at any cost.
“What do you want?”
“I think you know.”
He knew. Hyeon-woo slowly closed his eyes. The doctor and healer said that at this rate, Do-jin would die within a week. It was only possible because he was an S-class Awakened that he could endure that long.
“You don’t want a physical relationship or anything, do you?”
“Can I be satisfied with that?”
Alberg replied, running his fingers through his hair.
“All I want is for you to be my partner.”
Yeah, Hyeon-woo knew he wanted something like that. The demons were not a race to miss such an opportunity. Hyeon-woo sighed deeply.
What kind of person was Do-jin to him? Hyeon-woo felt the answer in his heart. Looking at him made him smile and his heart race. He liked the act of expressing affection in a subtle way.
‘I like you.’
Yes, he liked Do-jin. He still didn’t know what love was, but he didn’t know if anyone would call it love.
‘But is this love?’
It takes too many things to call it love.
‘Seon-woo.’
His one and only brother. It was hard for him to open his mouth when he thought of the child who had been waiting for his Hyung for a long time. His mind was complex and dizzy.
“I guess I need some time to think about it.”
With those words, the chaos disappeared.
A voice came from outside the door.
“Hyung.”
It was Seon-woo. Hyeon-woo opened his eyes again and got up from his bed. When he opened the door, he saw Seon-woo standing there with a nervous face.
“Hyung”
Seon-woo said with a worried expression.
“Nursing is good, but Hyung also needs some rest. Did you even sleep?”
“I’m alright.”
“It’s alright. If this happens, my Hyung will collapse in front of the patient.”
“...That won’t happen.”
“Then let’s rest for a bit. I’ll watch over Han Do-jin instead.”
Ga-jun, who was standing next to him, listened to Seon-woo.
“Okay, get some rest. I can look after another patient amazingly well. If you don’t trust Ji Seon-woo, trust me!”
Ga-jun pounded his chest. Then, he gently dragged Hyeon-woo and pushed him back. Seon-woo, who would normally disapprove of it, did not stop Ga-jun. He just went inside to take care of Do-jin in place of Hyeon-woo.
“Let’s eat something first.”
He handed out a cup of soup he had obtained from somewhere. Accepting that, he put on a relieved expression.
“Be sure to drink all of that.”
“Unn.”
Hyeon-woo held the warm cup with both hands and swallowed the soup bit by bit. As he took something to eat on an empty stomach, he heard a growling sound from his stomach.
“Look at that. You were hungry. There is more, so drink as much as you like.”
Ga-jun noticed and sat down next to Hyeon-woo.
“I called the healers in Korea just in case you didn’t know. They’ll arrive soon.”
“Thank you.”
“When Han Do-jin recovers, I’ll take on all the costs of summoning the healer.”
Although he grumbled, it was true that he moved to help him. He didn’t know if it was because of Seon-woo, but he didn’t know why Ga-jun would do this. Hyeon-woo stopped drinking the soup and stared at Ga-jun.
“Don’t you hate Hyung?”
“I don’t like him.”
“So why help?”
“Because I’m nice.”
He didn’t think so, but Hyeon-woo gave Ga-jun a suspicious look. However, Ga-jun shrugged his shoulders and let go of that gaze. The truth was different, but it hurt his pride to reveal all of it.
‘If Han Do-jin dies like this, it seems like the last chance I had will disappear.’
Sometimes the dead hold more regrets than the living. That was why Do-jin shouldn’t die yet.
“By the way, is Alberg back?”
Hyeon-woo nodded.
“You said you’d see Alberg once. What did he say?”
“There’s a way.”
“Then that’s a relief! So what’s the method?”
“I can’t tell you.”
“Why!”
Ga-jun raised his voice involuntarily.
“Alberg’s not a normal person.”
“You’re saying he didn’t move with sympathy or anything like that.”
“Yes, he’s asking for a price now.”
He felt like he knew it without having to say anything more. Just looking at it, Alberg liked Hyeon-woo. So, the price he wanted would be his too.
